Swimming Australia Ltd. is the governing body for the sport of swimming in Australia. Connected with Swimming Australia as a member organisation, is the Australian Swim Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA) which is the professional body for coaches and teachers. As such they have developed a range of qualifications designed to create great swim teachers and coaches and if you fall in love with the industry they have many professional development options to develop your career further.

The Swimming Australia Swim Teacher Course has been developed by some of Australia’s top teachers and coaches with the requirements of new teachers in mind. It combines self paced theory, a practical induction and on-the-job training to ensure prospective teachers gain experience in all aspects of aquatic education.

Learn to Swim Victoria is an approved provider of the Swim Australia Swim Teacher Course and has an ideal training situation for new teachers. Our small class sizes, wide range of swimmers’ ages and abilities and experienced teachers and coaches is a perfect place to undergo on-the-job training after you’ve finished the course. Courses are offered several times a year and everyone is welcome.
