what to expect in adult swimming lessons
Adult lessons run across multiple levels, from complete beginner through to swimmers focused on stroke refinement, efficiency and fitness.
Your instructor will work with you from the first lesson to understand your goals, confidence and experience, helping guide your progression at a pace that feels right for you.
Beginner through to technique focused class levels
Improve stroke technique, breathing and swimming efficiency
Structured progression with ongoing instructor feedback
Lessons adapted to individual goals and abilities
Supportive environment designed to build water confidence
one class tailored to you
Unlike programs that sort swimmers into fixed levels, our adult classes are catered to each individual. Complete beginners, nervous swimmers, returning swimmers and those refining technique can all be part of the same class, each working toward their own goals, at their own pace, with guidance suited to their ability.
Your instructor gets to know your comfort levels and goals from the first lesson, so whether you're finding your feet for the first time or fine tuning your freestyle, the class works around you, not the other way around.

Faq's
Absolutely not. Adults of all ages learn to swim with us every term. In fact many of our students come to us in their 30's, 40's, 50's and beyond, some having avoided the water their whole lives. Adults are often excellent learners because they are motivated and focused. It's never too late to gain a skill that could save your life and that you will enjoy forever.
Yes and you're not alone. Fear of the water is one of the most common reasons adults come to us. Our instructors are experienced in working with nervous beginners in a calm, patient and judgement free environment. Our small class sizes mean you'll never feel rushed or singled out, and you'll progress entirely at your pace.
We keep our classes intentionally small so every student gets individual attention from the instructor. This makes a huge difference compared to larger group lessons, you'll get real feedback, progress faster and feel more comfortable in the water.
Unlike traditional pools that use chlorine, our pool uses mineral water, a gentler water that's kinder to your body. You wont leave with irritated eyes or skin or smell of chlorine. Many students that previously avoided pools due to chlorine sensitivity find our mineral water soothing and a more pleasant experience.
It depends on your starting point and how often you attend, but most beginners are moving more confidently in the water after a term. Our program is structured so you can see clear progress at every stage, from feeling safe in the water, to floating, to developing your first strokes. There's no pressure to rush, and you move to the next level only when you're ready.
Just a swimsuit, goggles, a towel and yourself. If you're unsure what level to start at, just get in touch and we will have a chat to point you in the right direction. The hardest part is showing up for the first time, after that, most people wonder why they waited so long.
