The Swim Australia™ Teacher (SAT) gives the competence and knowledge to teach swimming and water safety to independent learners from ages 2 ½ years upward with an emphasis on safety, fun and skill development.

This course will give you the competence and knowledge to teach water familiarisation and basic swimming and water safety to Caregivers and their dependent learners from ages 6 months to 4 years.

All enrolled Swim Australia course students are covered by SCTI Insurance for the duration of their course and will receive complimentary ASCTA Membership upon being accredited.

The Swimming Australia Development Course focuses on developing a broad range of introductory coaching skills and techniques while also promoting participation in competitive swimming at club and district level.

SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR
We have a fantastic opportunity for the right applicant who wants a career in the aquatic industry. We are offering a full-time position for an enthusiastic and committed person, who is keen to join our rapidly developing swim schools. Duties will include Swimming Teaching; Lifeguarding; Office Administration/Reception duties. You must love children and have experience working with them. You must be comfortable and competent in the water. Other skills desired are: adaptability, conscientiousness and good communication skills. Quick decision making, safety awareness and be a team player. We operate from Heidelberg Primary School Pool in Heidelberg and Ivanhoe (boys) Grammar School in Ivanhoe.
Requirements
- Current AustSwim™ or Swim Australia™ Teacher qualification
- Current CPR
- Current Working with Children Check
If you have the passion and commitment for teaching, are reliable and have a willingness to learn and the ability to take direction, then we want to hear from you.
The successful applicant must have a “can do” attitude with a willingness to learn. You will be customer focused with excellent communication skills. You will be required to work a combination Monday – Friday morning/afternoon/evening shifts and weekends.
